Blackpink’s Pink Venom makes history with most No.1s on iTunes; only K-Pop girl group to do so

K-Pop girl group Blackpink has been making history with their latest pre-release single, Pink Venom. Ever since the song dropped, it has been topping charts all over. Not just on the domestic ones, but it has made it to the international charts as well.

Let’s backtrack a bit. For those who don’t already know, Blackpink dropped their pre-release track, Pink Venom on August 19. They will be making their highly anticipated comeback soon and ahead of that decided to give fans a little taste of what’s in store.Now, today, Sept 9, brings another achievement for their song, Pink Venom. Here’s what happened! Blackpink’s track hit No.1 on iTunes’ Top Songs chart across 78 different regions including the UK, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and others.

It was reported that, with this, Pink Venom has surpassed the previous record for the female group’s song with the most #1s on iTunes. The previous holder of the record was also Blackpink as their single, How You Like That had peaked at #1 in 77 different countries.

They have managed to break their own record with the latest track. But with the comeback still in store, it would be safe to say that Blackpink might once again break their own record. Their upcoming song and its MV will be dropping to possibly take over charts once again.Meanwhile, their album Born Pink along with a music video for the title track will release on Friday, September 16. Ahead of that, Blackpink will embark on their global tour starting with two performances on 15 and 16 October in Seoul.
